The Willows Story

On April 21st 1997 Trevor and Cathy Carroll opened Perfect Angels, in Anson Street, Orange, with 3 staff and licensed for 27 children. By 2002 we built our new facilities, Willows Preschool and Early Learning Centre, at 55 Dalton Street and in 2011, were employing 32 staff members. And licensed for 104 children.

We have plans to create a new Nature Preschool, called The Willows Village, at 57 Dalton Street.

Trevor’s background is 21 years as a Primary/Infants School Teacher, with several years as teacher in charge of the Primary Campus. Trevor trained at the University of New England and specialized in working with children with disabilities, under the guidance of Doctor John Irvine. Trevor completed his preschool Qualification at Queensland University of Technology, working with young children for nearly 40 years. Trevor also completed a BSc. in Architecture from the University of New South Wales with a special interest in Landscape Architecture and how it relates to the Human Body. Trevor has successfully completed 8th grade singing and 6th grade musicianship from the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Cathy’s background is in Psychology, Human Bioscience and Nutrition at the University of New England, and gained her Associate Diploma in Children’s Services through Goulburn TAFE. Cathy has worked with children under 5 years, for 35 years.

Together Trevor and Cathy have raised 4 children and are also raising their grand-daughter.

Alex Halls officially joined the family business in 2005, but has helped out in the business for since 1992 (22 years ago). Alex received her Diploma in Children’s Services in 2014 and has completed her First Semester in Early Childhood at Charles Sturt University. Alex is Assistant Director and the Willows Educational Leader.
