Kate joined the Willows team in 2009.

‘I love working with children because of the magical stories they tell. I work hard to develop relationships with both children and their families and share their excitement when children achieve a new skill.’

Kate believes that children learn through rich play-based experiences.

‘In my spare time I run a farm and like to go shopping. I also enjoy spending time with my niece.’

Leanne has been with The Willows since 2001.

‘I feel great satisfaction when nurturing and supporting early development and am always working towards improving our practices and routines with babies.’ Leanne feels that children learn through visual and physical interactions with peers and educators.

When she’s not caring for the Willows babies, she is working closely with other educators to maintain a culture of reflection and teamwork, support programming and working her magic with the staffing roster.

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Lyn has 40 years experience in education.

‘I’ve always been excited about working with children. They make you see life the way it should be—exciting, fun and exploring everything. It keeps me young at heart.’

Lyn feels that early childhood education is very important, ‘...it sets up the skills and knowledge for later years and develops values and relationship skills for life.’ She likes to keep ahead of the trends my reading about latest research and reflecting with fellow educators.

‘I love all animals and try to instil this in the children I work with.’
